10 years of Lokomotion

Since its formation Lokomotion has been able to increase steadily its number of departures.  In 2001 the company began with initially 2 daily pairs of trains in combined traffic between Munich and Verona. As soon as the following year the first wagon-load trains were added. We currently run up to 18 round trips a day and offer additional transport deliveries in the special train sector.

This continuous growth was also a challenge  in the operational respect:

• Transposition of chance trafficinto a regular frequency timetable.
• In 2005 use for the first time of interoperable multi-system locomotives on the Brenner route.
• Extension of vehicle fleet and personnel strength

Since 2001 Lokomotion has participated in a variety of EU projects for the furthering of cross-border rail freight. The experieince and knowledge gained in the BRAVO project (Brenner Rail Action Volume) and CREAM project (Customer-driven Rail-freight services on a European Mega-corridor based on Advanced business and operating Models) have been of immediate benefit to our transport quality and therefore to our customers.
